Celebrating Business Excellence in Northern Lincolnshire
The Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards 2009 are organised by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce in association with Grimsby & Scunthorpe Media Group. The Awards are open to all businesses in Northern Lincolnshire and reward excellence, achievement and business success.
The Awards, now in their 8th year, are recognised as the largest, single, annual business event in Northern Lincolnshire and the Gala Dinner & Presentation of Awards is attended by 500 of the business community. There are 12 Award categories – two new Awards in 2009 – which aim to reward and recognise new and established, small and large businesses, domestic and international markets and individuals achievements. Hopefully, a category for everyone.
The Awards are part of Hull & Humber Chamber’s ongoing commitment to act as the ‘Voice of Business’ in the Humber and support the region’s industry, commerce and shipping.
2009 Gala Dinner and Presentation of the Awards
Britain – Let’s Celebrate!
The Dinner and Presentation of the Awards, generously supported by Yorkshire Forward, took place at Grimsby Auditorium on 19 June. A fantastic opportunity for the Northern Lincolnshire business community to get together and celebrate business success in the region. And celebrate they did!
Following a ‘Champagne’ Reception sponsored by BT Local Business Yorkshire & the Humber, guests sat down to a traditional British Roast Beef Dinner before being entertained to a ‘Best of British’ cabaret show, including Britain’s Got Talent runners-up Signature, opera singer Kateriana Fenech, Scots Guard Association Pipe & Drums, a Vivian Westwood style fashion show by Grimsby Institute students and a rousing Last Night of the Proms finale. Guests were entertained at table by magicians, balloon modellers, stilt walkers and even a game of ‘pass the parcel’. The Awards were hosted by ‘Time Lord’ Will McFadzean and the Awards were presented by Helen Philpot, ex BBC and present MD of Immage Studios Immingham.
