Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards 2010
The winners of the 2010 Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards, organised by Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce in association with GSMG, have been announced.
The Dinner and Presentation of the Awards, generously supported by Yorkshire Forward, took place at Grimsby Auditorium on 14th May. A fantastic opportunity for the Northern Lincolnshire business community to get together and celebrate business success in the region. And celebrate they did!
Following a ‘Champagne’ Reception sponsored by e-Factor and canapés sponsored and served by Grimsby Institute, guests heard from Russ Garbutt, President of the Chamber before being officially welcomed by Sponsors Yorkshire Forward’s Executive Director of Business Simon Hill.
With a Harry Potteresque theme the Grimsby Auditorium was transformed into Hogawards! Guests enjoyed a Lincolnshire themed Dinner in the ‘Chamber’s Room of Recognition’ (thanks to Scunthorpe members Fine Dining and Quality Catering) whilst table performers and lookalikes entertained. Games and a ‘Tri Wizard Tournament’ organised by VIP Adrenaline with rope act and flying owl kept guests amused until it was time for the “Spreading the Magic After Dinner Show” featuring professional West End acts including Magicians Act of the Year 2008 Keelan & Charlotte and also Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education performing students who wowed the audience with their phoenix dance act and wonderful costumes.
The evening was hosted by Magic Circle magician and Chamber member Steve Short and the Awards were expertly presented by Grimsby girl Helen Fospero, currently on GMTV. There were 12 awards this year, including a new Award for Training Excellence and the thirty four nominees sat expectantly as tension mounted, waiting to hear who would be the outright winners in 2010 and who would be the runners-up.
