How long have the awards been running?
This is the ninth year of the Awards. Each year the Awards have grown more popular and now 500 people attend the Dinner and Presentation Evening at Grimsby Auditorium. The Awards are the single biggest annual business event in Northern Lincolnshire.
How many awards are there?
There are 12 Awards categories. Businesses can enter as many categories as they like. The judges will pick three nominees in each of the categories* - one outright winner and two equal runners-up.
*apart from the Business of Excellence Award. This Award cannot be entered. Rather it is chosen from all the entries submitted. There is only one outright winner in this category.
What happens if I am nominated for an Award?
All companies nominated for an Award are given the opportunity to be videoed by Saville Creative. This video ‘snapshot’ of the company is shown at the Awards Dinner and Presentation Evening – a wonderful way of profiling your company. There is of course no charge to you and videos can be purchased after the event at a heavily discounted rate.
All companies nominated are offered the opportunity to book places at the Dinner and Presentation Evening.
What can I get out of the Awards?
Winners will receive a very prestigious trophy and certificate. Runners-up will receive a certificate. In all cases these will be presented and photographs taken by the Grimsby/Scunthorpe Telegraph photographer and/or the Awards photographer Dave Moss. All Awards nominees will receive publicity through the Grimsby & Scunthorpe Media Group. By entering the awards you can show your employees that their success is important to you whilst showing your customers that you are a business worth dealing with.
Do I have to pay to enter the awards?
No, there is no payment needed to enter the awards. Tickets for the Awards Dinner & Presentation Evening can be purchased by calling Marilyn Waud at the Northern Lincolnshire Chamber Office on 01472 342981 or emailing: m.waud@hull-humber-chamber.co.uk.
Can I enter the awards even though I have entered in previous years?
Yes. Successful businesses continue from strength to strength and should be recognised for that achievement. Previous nominees and winners are welcome to enter again this year in as many categories as they wish.
Will the information on my entry form remain confidential?
Only the Chamber of Commerce and the relevant judges will have access to the entry forms. The information contained within the entries will under no circumstances be divulged to any third party. The judges' decision on the Awards is final.
Can I nominate another person/company for an Award?
Yes, the Chamber is happy to accept nominations. Indeed, we encourage them. But please ensure that the company/person you nominate is happy for their name to go forward and an entry to be submitted. When we receive the nominated application form we will telephone the person/company nominated and obtain their written consent.
